BSNL 4G Services at ₹1: How to Apply and Check Eligibility?

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a one-month free 4G service offer for new customers under its Diwali Bonanza Plan, valid from October 15 to November 15, 2025.
As part of the scheme, users need to pay only ₹1 for activation. The plan provides access to unlimited voice calls (as per plan terms), 2GB of high-speed data per day, 100 SMS per day, and a free SIM card, subject to KYC guidelines set by the Department of Telecommunications.
How to Apply for BSNL Diwali Bonanza Plan?
To apply for the offer, prospective users must visit a BSNL Customer Service Centre (CSC) with valid KYC documents. The application process involves requesting the Diwali Bonanza Plan, paying the token amount of ₹1, completing KYC, and collecting the SIM card.
The 30-day complimentary service begins from the date of activation.
BSNL ₹1 4G Services Eligibility and Terms
The offer is valid only for new BSNL customers and includes a free SIM card. The plan benefits are limited to the initial 30 days, after which standard charges may apply. Users must complete KYC as per DoT guidelines to activate the plan.
BSNL’s Network and Market Context
BSNL’s CMD, A. Robert J. Ravi, highlighted that the company has recently deployed a Make-in-India 4G network nationwide, reflecting the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. BSNL expects that the service quality and coverage of its 4G network will encourage continued usage beyond the free period.
In a previous offer in August, BSNL saw its mobile subscriber base increase by over 1.38 lakh, briefly overtaking Airtel in new customer additions. As of August 2025, India’s total telephone subscriber base reached 122.45 crore. The recent surge in subscriber numbers comes amid private telecom operators raising tariffs and expanding 5G services, positioning BSNL competitively in the market.

Conclusion
The Diwali Bonanza Plan allows new users to experience BSNL’s 4G services for 30 days with minimal upfront payment. While the plan is limited to new customers and requires KYC completion, it represents part of BSNL’s wider strategy to strengthen its subscriber base and expand its network presence nationwide.
