The BSE Sensex opened lower and, as the session progressed, slipped below the 77,400-mark, trading down by 0.44% amid a surge in the crude oil prices. Brent crude oil price has surged past $91 per barrel on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

The BSE Sensex on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, was seen trading lower by 0.44% at 77,386 level as of 12:24 PM.  

The BSE Sensex opened lower at level of 77,418.97 and it marked an intraday low of 77,275.96.  

The index is seen trading lower amid surge in the crude oil prices.  

Crude oil prices have surged to near 3-weeks high on Tuesday amid US-Iran tensions. The Brent crude oil price trades above the level of $91 mark.
