Aug 2025 Auto Sales: Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, and M&M Shares in Focus
On September 1, 2025, the auto manufacturer released their sales number for the month of August 2025. The overall auto industry recorded a subdued growth, however, the 2W manufacturers saw a tremendous growth, led by Eicher Motors, followed by TVS Motors Company.
The passenger vehicle manufacturers Maruti Suzuki and M&M recorded a marginal fall, while Tata Motors recorded a growth of 2%.

- Maruti Suzuki India Ltd: In August 2025, Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 180,683 units. This includes 134,050 units sold in the domestic market, 10,095 units supplied to other OEMs, and 36,538 units exported.
- Tata Motors: Tata Motors recorded a steady year-on-year growth in the Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV) segment. Domestic sales, including trucks and buses, stood at 13,405 units in August 2025, up from 12,008 units in August 2024. Total MH&ICV sales (domestic and international) rose to 14,667 units, compared to 12,708 units in the same month last year.
- Mahindra & Mahindra: In August 2025, Mahindra sold 39,399 Utility Vehicles in the domestic market, reflecting a 9% year-on-year decline. Including exports, total sales in this segment reached 40,846 units. The company's Commercial Vehicles division posted domestic sales of 22,427 units.
