Airtel Money Begins Trading on London Stock Exchange at £5.3 Billion Valuation

Airtel Money began conditional trading on the London Stock Exchange on October 9, 2026, under the ticker symbol AMC. The offering values the digital financial services business at £5.3 billion, equivalent to around $7 billion.
The company expects unconditional trading to begin on October 14, alongside its admission to the Official List. Until then, trading is restricted to investors who applied for and received shares in the offer.
Existing Shareholders Put Shares Up for Sale
The IPO includes 270 million existing shares being sold by minority shareholders. Mastercard Asia/Pacific PTE. LTD. is making up to 27 million additional shares available.
If the overallotment option is exercised in full, the offer will reach £582 million, accounting for around 11% of Airtel Money's share capital at admission. The company will have 2.7 billion issued shares following admission.
IFC's Full Investment Commitment Fulfilled
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has been allocated 34,285,714 shares worth £67.2 million. This completes its full commitment under the cornerstone investment agreement.
Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder of Airtel and Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, said London's established investor base and business environment made it an attractive listing destination. He also pointed to the offer's oversubscription as a sign of investor appetite in the UK market.
Focus on Expanding Digital Financial Services
Airtel Money CEO Ian Ferrao described the listing as a new chapter for the business. He said the company would continue working to make financial services simpler and more accessible, while connecting more people and businesses across Africa to the formal financial system.
The company said the listing would support its next phase of growth and efforts to expand digital financial services across the continent.
