Tata Group-owned Air India has joined hands with AVIS India to offer premium chauffeur-driven car services in 17 cities across India, as per news reports. This initiative aims to enhance the travel experience for its passengers by providing safe, comfortable, and reliable ground transport, with discounts of up to 20%.
Through this partnership, Air India’s customers can now access AVIS India’s fleet of chauffeur-driven cars at exclusive rates. The service covers major cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur and others.
Customers benefit from 24/7 support and a range of vehicles tailored to their needs. “This partnership with AVIS India underscores our commitment to offering premium travel experiences to our guests at every touchpoint,” stated Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, as per news reports.
As per news reports, Air India recently reported a 1% decline in market share, carrying 33.08 lakh passengers in July compared to the same figure in June. The airline had reduced domestic capacity by 5% at the end of June for thorough fleet inspections. Addressing concerns around technical issues, CEO Campbell Wilson described these incidents as “entirely normal” for an airline of Air India’s scale.
