Ahead of Festival Season Swiggy Launches New Features for 'Food on Train'

As per the news reports, Swiggy announced new additions to its Food on Train service on Thursday, September 26, 2025. The platform will now allow passengers to order curated meals under the City Best option, which highlights popular dishes from well-known restaurants located near railway stations.
A new section called Easy Eats has been introduced to provide convenient meals for travel. These options are designed to be simple, neatly packed, and easy to consume on trains.
Wider Coverage and Faster Ordering
The service is now available at more than 115 railway stations across India. Passengers can choose from over 5,000 dishes, which are delivered directly to their seats. Swiggy has also updated its Food on Train page to improve functionality on weak internet connections, claiming orders can now be placed up to 25% faster.
Pure Veg Options
For passengers looking for vegetarian choices or fasting during festivals like Navratri, Swiggy has launched a dedicated Pure Veg section. This feature makes it easier to access only vegetarian meals during travel.
Discounts Through Offer Zone
The company has also rolled out an Offer Zone, which provides access to over 30 deals from partner restaurants. Discounts can go up to 60%, offering cost-saving options for passengers while travelling during the festive period.
