ACME Solar Holdings Limited has secured a 130 MW capacity under REMC Limited’s 1,000 MW Round-the-Clock renewable energy tender through an e-reverse auction. The company placed a tariff bid of ₹4.35 per unit, emerging as the winning participant.

The Letter of Award (LOA) is expected to be issued as per the schedule specified in the tender guidelines.

Direct Power Supply to Indian Railways

The awarded project is intended to directly supply power to Indian Railways, which requires a consistent energy profile throughout the day due to its operational demands. Unlike conventional procurement structures, the Railways will enter into a direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the selected bidders, removing intermediaries and enabling transparent long-term supply arrangements.

High-Availability Renewable Energy Requirements

Under the tender’s terms, ACME Solar must deliver firm renewable energy supported by dispatchable sources and Energy Storage Systems (ESS). Power must be supplied from ISTS-connected projects to ensure uninterrupted availability. The conditions mandate minimum annual availability of 75% for the first three years from commissioning and 85% thereafter. To achieve this, ACME will need a combination of solar, battery storage and complementary wind power as required, calibrated to deliver high round-the-clock output.

Project Timeline and Existing Infrastructure Support

ACME Solar plans to commission the project within 30 months of PPA signing. The company expects accelerated execution due to land availability and transmission connectivity already present within its existing project portfolio.

ACME Solar Share Price Performance
