L&T Technology Services (LTTS) and Thyssenkrupp Steering have signed a strategic agreement to establish a new automotive software development centre in Pune. LTTS will be responsible for setting up and operating the centre on behalf of thyssenkrupp Steering.
The facility will work on developing software for advanced steering systems. Key areas include embedded systems, functional safety, and cybersecurity. The focus will be on building safety-critical software to support steering innovation.
This development is part of Thyssenkrupp’s larger plan to expand its global engineering footprint. The centre will contribute to the software used in steering systems supplied to customers around the world.
Thyssenkrupp Steering has experience in electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures and integrated motion control. Its technologies support functions such as autonomous driving, comfort improvements, and safety upgrades in vehicles.
LTTS has previously worked on over 250 programs related to mobility. The company also holds more than 350 patents and operates 45 labs focused on vehicle electrification, hybrid systems, and software-defined architectures.

As per news reports, Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of L&T Technology Services, said: “This collaboration with thyssenkrupp Steering highlights LTTS’s leadership in the mobility space. The Pune centre is expected to play a role in the development of future-ready steering systems. It will also act as a software development hub aligned with the growing demand for connected and intelligent vehicles.
As of 09:39 AM on July 1, 2025, L&T Technology Services (LTTS) share price was at ₹4,404.40, a 0.05% increase. The stock is down 6.24% over the past 6 months and 12.62% over the past year.
The partnership formalises a new phase of software development between the two companies. It adds to India’s growing role as a base for automotive technology and software engineering.
