Domestic Mutual Funds Receive 1.39 Crore Shares in NSE IPO Anchor Allocation

The NSE IPO received ₹2,494.99 crore from domestic mutual funds during the anchor allocation. According to an INDMoney news report citing the filing dated September 16, 2026, 29 mutual funds were allotted 1,39,77,524 shares through 98 schemes.
The shares were allotted at ₹1,785 apiece. Mutual funds accounted for 36.98% of the total anchor allocation of ₹6,746.18 crore, which covered 3,77,93,739 shares.
Fund Houses That Participated
ICICI Prudential, HDFC, Nippon India, Kotak, Axis, Aditya Birla Sun Life, UTI, Mirae Asset, Tata, Invesco, Edelweiss and Quant were among the participating fund houses.
Nippon India Large Cap Fund and Invesco India Contra Fund received allocations of nearly ₹140 crore each. SBI Banking & Financial Services Fund received ₹100 crore, while HDFC Large Cap Fund received about ₹95.57 crore.
UTI spread its allocation across nine schemes, while Tata Mutual Fund had six participating schemes. WhiteOak Capital had the highest number, with 15 schemes receiving NSE shares.
Other Participating Schemes
Franklin Templeton received around ₹127 crore across three schemes, while HSBC Mutual Fund received ₹88 crore across four schemes. DSP Mutual Fund received ₹75 crore through two schemes.
Other participants included NJ, PGIM India, ITI, Bajaj Finserv, Union, LIC, Samco, Motilal Oswal, Bandhan, Baroda BNP Paribas, Bank of India and Groww Mutual Fund.
NSE IPO Details
The IPO comprises an offer for sale of up to 12.64 crore shares, with a price band of ₹1,700 to ₹1,785. At the upper end, the issue is valued at ₹22,568.94 crore.
As the issue is entirely an offer for sale, the proceeds will go to existing shareholders selling their stakes. NSE will not receive fresh capital from the IPO.
What the Filing Shows
The allocations were spread across large cap, flexi cap, multi cap, ELSS, hybrid, contra and banking and financial services schemes.
The anchor Tiling shows the shares allotted to each scheme, but not the eventual portiolio weight. That will be visible through subsequent portfolio disclosures after the listing.
