The Government of Kerala has introduced a significant welfare initiative, the Sthree Suraksha Scheme, which came into effect on 22 December 2025. This scheme aims to provide financial support to women who are not currently covered under any other state or central government assistance programs.

The Finance Department of Kerala is responsible for overseeing the implementation and monitoring of this scheme. Under the Sthree Suraksha Scheme, eligible women will receive a monthly financial aid of ₹1,000.

Required Documents for Sthree Suraksha Scheme

Applicants must provide the following documents:

  • Aadhaar Card (of the applicant)
  • Proof of age (any one of the following):
        School Transfer Certificate (TC)
        Birth Certificate
        Passport
        Driving Licence
        Medical Age Certificate
  • PHH or AAY Ration Card
  • Bank account details
  • Self-Declaration Form

The scheme offers an online application facility through the KSMART Portal, which opened on 22 December 2025. Eligible women can submit their applications online to avail the ₹1,000 per month financial assistance.

What are the Eligibility Criteria?

Not all women are eligible for this benefit. To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be between 35 and 60 years of age.
  • Not be receiving any social security pension.
  • Hold either an Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card (Yellow Ration Card) or a Priority Household (PHH) Ration Card (Pink Ration Card).
  • Not be employed by the Central Government, State Government, or any Quasi-Government institution.
