The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has provisionally selected 5 applicants under the fourth round of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods, following an evaluation of 13 proposals.
The selected firms are focused on manufacturing air conditioner (AC) components and have collectively committed investments worth ₹863 crore.
The 5 selected companies: Kirloskar Pneumatic, Indo-Asia Copper, Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing, Kryon Technology, and Pranav Vikas (India) are projected to achieve total production of ₹8,337.24 crore by FY 2027-28. The projects are also expected to generate around 1,799 new direct jobs over the same period.
Under this round, eight other applicants have been referred to the Committee of Experts (CoE) for further technical assessment and recommendations before final selection.
Overall, 85 firms approved under the PLI Scheme for White Goods, covering air conditioners and LED lighting products are expected to invest ₹11,198 crore and generate cumulative production of ₹1.9 trillion during the scheme period.
The initiative is designed to strengthen domestic manufacturing by encouraging production of key AC components such as compressors, copper tubes, heat exchangers, BLDC motors, and electronic control assemblies.
In LED lighting, domestic manufacturing will include LED chip packaging, drivers, engines, light management systems, and specialised capacitor films.
