
The Maharashtra government has released the initial beneficiary list for the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026 on July 22, 2026.
This scheme aims to provide debt relief of up to ₹2 lakh to approximately 56 lakh farmer families, with a total budget allocation of ₹40,980 crore.
The scheme has laid out certain eligibility criteria to ascertain who can benefit from it. Read on to find out the eligibility and exclusion criteria.
The first phase of the scheme covers 533 to 553 farmers, amounting to ₹2.99 crore. These beneficiaries are spread across 7 districts, including Thane, Amravati, Latur, Nagpur, Pune, and Satara. The selection process is facilitated through District Central Cooperative Banks.
Farmers who pay income tax or do not meet the revised criteria are excluded from this phase. Future lists will be contingent on income-tax clearance data.
Farmers with short-term crop loans, including principal and interest, up to ₹2 lakh are eligible for this waiver.
The loans must have been disbursed between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2025, and remained overdue as of September 30, 2025, while still unpaid by March 31, 2026.
The accounts should be mapped through participating district central cooperative, nationalised, or private banks, covering data from 53 approved banks.

The benefits under the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana are claimed automatically via data matching on the MahaIT portal. Eligible farmers receive SMS alerts and must complete Aadhaar authentication at local Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendras to finalise the process.
