The Delhi government has announced the commencement of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, a welfare initiative providing ₹2,500 monthly to eligible women. Registration begins on August 1, 2026, with the first payment scheduled for August 28, 2026, as per the news reports. 

Delhi Lakshmi Yojana: Documents Required for Registration 

As per news reports, applicants need to submit Aadhaar cards, voter identity cards, and family member documents. A self-declaration confirming 10 years of residency in Delhi and no criminal record is also required. 

Identity and Verification Documents 

  • Aadhaar card linked to a valid mobile number for OTP verification
  • Voter identity card
  • Passport-size photo
  • Bank account linked to the Aadhaar card 

Residency and Family Documents 

  • Family member identification documents
  • 10-year residence certificate proving long-term stay in Delhi
  • Self-declaration confirming 10 years of residency and no criminal record 

Financial Documents 

  • Income proof issued by the Revenue Department showing annual income below ₹2.5 lakh 

Eligibility Criteria for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana 

To qualify for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, applicants must be women residents of Delhi for at least 10 years, aged between 18 and 60, with no criminal record. Only the eldest eligible woman in a family can apply, and the family income must not exceed ₹2,50,000 annually. Women with more than 3 children are ineligible. 

Exclusions from the Scheme 

Women who pay income tax, file GST returns, receive other government financial assistance, or are government employees are not eligible. Families with a member employed by the government, owning a four-wheeler, or with annual electricity consumption over 2,400 units are also excluded. 

Options for Monthly Assistance 

Beneficiaries can choose to receive ₹1,500 in a recurring or fixed deposit and ₹1,000 in a digital rupee wallet, or the entire ₹2,500 in a deposit. The recurring deposit has a 3-year lock-in period.
