To qualify for the DDA Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana 2026, applicants must be citizens of India and at least 18 years old by the last date of application submission.
They must also have the legal capacity to enter into a valid contract. A valid Permanent Account Number (PAN) and a savings bank account in the applicant's name are mandatory requirements.
The scheme categorises "Karmajeevi" into 2 groups. The first group includes serving and retired personnel from the Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and Central and State Autonomous Bodies.
Employees and pensioners from Public Sector Banks (PSBs), Local Bodies, Government Universities, Government Hospitals, and other Government Institutions are also eligible.
The second category includes professionally qualified individuals such as doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects.
It also extends to urban planners, engineers, scientists, professors, teachers, and corporate professionals, recognising their contribution to the nation's development.

There are no restrictions on prior property ownership under this scheme. Applicants can own land or built-up properties in Delhi or elsewhere and still apply.
Multiple houses can be purchased under this scheme. For joint applications in the Person with Benchmark Disability (Divyangjan) category, the primary applicant must belong to the reserved category, and the co-applicant must be a blood relative, spouse, parent, or unmarried child.
Applicants must provide specific documents to prove eligibility. Government employees and pensioners need to submit an Employee or Pensioner Identity Card or an Employer Certificate, along with a recent Salary Slip or Form 16.
Private and self-employed professionals must upload their Professional Degree Certificate and Professional Registration Certificate or provide their latest Income Tax Return (ITR) or an active Employee Identity Card.
