As per PTI report, Western Railway has inaugurated its first digital lounge and co-working space at Mumbai Central station, aimed at providing work-ready amenities for remote workers and business travellers.
Spread across a 1,712 sq ft area, the facility marks a step toward improving non-fare railway revenue while enhancing passenger conveniences.
The newly launched digital lounge, situated at Mumbai Central station’s main line concourse, offers essential facilities such as modular workstations, dedicated conference rooms, and video conferencing spaces.
Operated by Ten 11 Hospitality LLP under its brand INEJ Lounge, the space seeks to support commuting professionals in need of temporary office setups.
The facility spans 1,712 sq ft and is designed to accommodate a variety of work needs — from one-on-one meetings to casual co-working arrangements. Additional features include self-service light refreshments, non-alcoholic drinks, and upgraded washrooms.
Western Railway estimates revenue of approximately ₹3.2 crore over a 5-year period through this digital lounge. This supports the railways’ non-fare revenue model by offering value-added services to travellers.
Entry to the lounge is priced at ₹200 for the first hour, with an additional ₹150 for the next one hour. There are also optional value packs that include access to vegetarian meals and shower facilities for extra convenience and comfort during long transits.

The co-working space also includes multiple charging points, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable seating arrangements, and clean sanitation facilities. The service caters to business travellers, remote professionals and regular passengers needing a functional workspace during layovers.
According to officials, there are considerations to expand such lounges to other major and select suburban stations in the Western Railway network, following Mumbai Central’s implementation model.
Western Railway's introduction of a digital lounge at Mumbai Central station provides accessible and professional workspace solutions for travellers. With entry starting at ₹200 per hour, the initiative adds value to passenger experience while supporting railway revenue generation.
