Telecom services in Uttar Pradesh have continued to expand across mobile, broadband and fixed wireless access segments. As per news reports, the coverage has increased in both urban centres and rural areas.
As per the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, the rollout has taken place alongside policy measures and private sector investment, supporting connectivity needs linked to administration, business and household use.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data shows that Uttar Pradesh East and Uttar Pradesh West remain among the country’s largest telecom circles by subscriber activity. Movement of users between networks has stayed high.
In November 2025, mobile number portability requests stood at about 1.97 million in Uttar Pradesh East and around 1.35 million in Uttar Pradesh West, showing sustained usage levels.
Fixed wireless access services, including those delivered through 5G networks, have recorded steady additions. By the end of November 2025, India had 10.41 million 5G FWA subscribers.
Uttar Pradesh East accounted for nearly 0.79 million subscribers, while Uttar Pradesh West had around 0.62 million.
The figures point to growing use of wireless broadband options where fibre connectivity is limited.
Wireline services remain in use across government departments, educational institutions, industrial units and urban households. Fixed-line and broadband connections support official communication systems, data exchange and service delivery.
The spread of digital government platforms has increased reliance on stable wireline infrastructure, particularly for offices and institutions handling large data volumes.
India’s active mobile subscriber base increased to 1,090.91 million in November 2025, up from the previous month, according to TRAI. Uttar Pradesh contributed a sizeable portion of these users.
Mobile services are widely used for government portals, digital payments, online education platforms and healthcare-related services, indicating regular usage across regions.
