Uber has expanded its presence across India to 225 cities, adding 100 new cities to its network, as per The Moneycontrol news report.
The expansion, led by Uber Bike, now covers 18 states and one Union Territory, strengthening the company's reach beyond major urban centres.
Uber Bike Leads Expansion Across 100 Cities
Uber will initially introduce Bike services across the newly added cities, spanning locations from Jammu to Tirunelveli, Silchar to Jamnagar.
The service is designed to cater to everyday journeys, particularly short-distance trips and first- and last-mile connectivity.
Focus on Affordable Mobility
The expansion is aimed at improving access to affordable mobility in smaller cities while creating flexible earning opportunities for local drivers.
Uber said Bike is particularly suited to these markets as it provides a cost-effective travel option and allows drivers to earn using an asset they may already own.
Uber Expands Multimodal Mobility Platform
Uber Bike forms part of the company's broader multimodal mobility platform in India. Alongside Bike and Auto services, the platform includes cars, airport rides, Intercity services and public transport integrations, giving users multiple transportation options.

As part of its Independence Day celebrations, Uber is offering first-time riders across India a free first ride for a limited period, subject to the applicable offer terms.
