As of August 18, 2025, the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana portal is live, enabling first-time EPF members in private employment to apply for a direct incentive up to ₹15,000 disbursed in 2 tranches upon completing defined service continuity and EPF compliance.

Employee Benefits and Timeline

First-time employees becoming EPF members within the scheme window can get up to ₹15,000, equal to 1 month's EPF wage, paid in 2 instalments after 6 and 12 months of continuous service, verified through EPFO records. Disbursal is via DBT using Aadhaar-based payment rails, with the second tranche linked to completion of a financial literacy component as specified.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must be first-time EPF members with an initial EPF contribution from wage month August 2025, employed at an EPFO-registered establishment during August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2027. Monthly gross pay must be up to ₹1,00,000, and service continuity in the same establishment is required to trigger each instalment.

How to Apply

Register on the official portal pmvbry.epfindia.gov.in or pmvbry.labour.gov.in, complete KYC, link bank account for DBT, and ensure UAN generation and activation, including via UMANG Face Authentication if needed. After 6 months with EPF contributions visible in ECR, the first instalment becomes payable, and after 12 months plus the financial literacy module, the second is released.

Documents and Prerequisites

Keep Aadhaar, PAN, bank details for DBT, and UAN ready; employment must reflect in employer ECR filings to validate tenure and first-time EPF status. Self-declaration of first-time EPF membership and salary threshold is cross-verified through EPFO systems before payment.

Employer’s Role and Parallel Support

Employers must register on the portal, be EPFO-compliant, and file timely ECR to evidence the employee’s eligibility milestones. Separately, employers may receive up to ₹3,000 per month per eligible new hire for 2 years, with extended support indicated for manufacturing.

Where to Verify Details

Refer to the official portal and PIB circulars for definitive rules, forms, and any updates before applying or relying on media summaries. Avoid unofficial links and verify all steps through the Labour Ministry and EPFO communications only.

Conclusion

Private employees entering formal work for the first time during the scheme window can secure up to ₹15,000 by registering on the official portal and meeting EPF and service milestones, while employers receive complementary hiring incentives.
