Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed the Council of Ministers to urgently investigate alternative energy sources in response to the current crisis in West Asia, which has impacted energy supplies from the region.

This development arose during a detailed ministerial meeting shortly after Modi's return from diplomatic visits to the UAE and several European nations, where West Asian tensions were a focal point of discussions.

During his address, PM Modi emphasised the necessity of identifying viable energy alternatives. He specifically highlighted biogas as a potential substitute for LPG cooking gas, urging ministers to accelerate efforts in this area.

The call for reform was underscored by Modi's broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, an initiative aimed at fostering a developed India by the centennial of the nation's independence.

Implementation of Reforms

The Prime Minister stressed that all new initiatives or reforms should aim to simplify citizens' lives, rather than complicate them. Presentations from key ministries, including External Affairs, Agriculture, and Power, underscored reforms intended to improve ease of living.
