NHAI Launches Digital Local Toll Pass and MargMitra Help Centre on RajmargYatra App

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced two new digital services on the RajmargYatra Mobile App to make highway travel more convenient and improve the commuter experience. The newly launched Digital Local Pass and MargMitra Help Centre aim to simplify toll payments, reduce paperwork, and provide faster access to information and grievance redressal.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India's Digital India vision and its focus on enhancing the ease of living through technology-driven public services.
Digital Local Pass to Simplify Toll Payments
NHAI has launched the Digital Local Pass facility, allowing eligible commuters to purchase monthly toll passes directly through the RajmargYatra app without visiting toll plazas.
The service has initially been introduced at the Mundka–Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi and will be expanded to other toll plazas across the country in the coming months.
Residents living within a 20-kilometre radius of an eligible toll plaza can purchase the pass digitally, enabling unlimited travel through the respective toll plaza during the month. The verification process is fully digital, using consent-based integration with DigiLocker, VAHAN, and GIS-based address verification to validate eligibility, vehicle details, and linked FASTag information.
MargMitra Help Centre Offers Digital Highway Assistance
NHAI has also introduced MargMitra, an AI-powered digital help centre integrated into the RajmargYatra app. The platform allows users to access highway-related information, raise complaints, and seek assistance through a conversational interface in 22 Indian languages.
The help centre provides support for services such as FASTag recharge, KYC requirements, refund status, Annual Pass and Local Pass queries, along with other frequently asked questions.
Users can also lodge complaints, track their status in real time, file appeals if needed, check FASTag blacklisting status, view pending e-notices, and report road safety issues such as stalled vehicles or highway encroachments.

Conclusion
With the launch of the Digital Local Pass and MargMitra Help Centre, NHAI is expanding the digital capabilities of the RajmargYatra app to offer a more seamless highway travel experience. Building on the success of selling over 80 lakh Annual Passes through the platform, these new features are expected to reduce manual processes, improve transparency, and make National Highway travel safer, smarter, and more convenient for commuters across India.
