As of July 31, 2025, Mission Poshan 2.0 has reached over 72.22 lakh pregnant women with supplementary nutrition, while Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) has successfully provided maternity benefits to more than 4.05 crore beneficiaries since its launch in January 2017.
Mission Poshan 2.0, launched under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, continues to address maternal and child malnutrition. According to data from the Poshan Tracker, over 72.22 lakh pregnant women have been registered as beneficiaries as of July 31, 2025. Through Anganwadi Centres, pregnant women receive supplementary nutrition in the form of Take-Home Ration (THR) containing 600 calories, 18 to 20 grams of protein, and essential micronutrients for 300 days a year.
Under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, maternity benefits have been provided to more than 4.05 crore beneficiaries between January 1, 2017, and July 31, 2025. The scheme offers financial incentives to support women during pregnancy and early motherhood, with a focus on improving health outcomes for both mother and child.
Numerous interventions under the National Health Mission strengthen maternal healthcare. These include Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN), Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), and Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA). These programmes offer assured free health services, antenatal check-ups, free deliveries, deworming, iron and folic acid supplementation, and postnatal care.

The Poshan Tracker app, launched on March 1, 2021, enables real-time data monitoring for all beneficiaries, Anganwadi Workers, and centres. With features like Facial Recognition System for THR delivery and a multilingual dashboard, it promotes transparency and accountability. Beneficiaries also receive SMS updates and access to educational videos on maternal and child care.
To support effective implementation, over 5,81,326 Anganwadi Workers and 41,402 supervisors have been trained by July 2025. Additionally, the PM JANMAN Mission has approved the construction of 2,500 new Anganwadi Centres to cater to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups across India.
Mission Poshan 2.0 and PMMVY continue to make significant strides in maternal welfare. Through robust health programmes, digital tracking, and targeted nutrition, both initiatives are improving the well-being of millions of mothers and children across India.
