In recent months, the cost of commercial LPG cylinders in India has seen a notable increase, affecting various businesses including restaurants and eateries.

While domestic LPG prices have remained unchanged since March, commercial rates have been adjusted twice, leading to increased operational costs for businesses relying on this essential resource.

Commercial LPG Price Hikes

In March, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was raised by ₹144. This was followed by another increase of nearly ₹200 on April 1, 2026.

These consecutive hikes have significantly impacted businesses that depend on commercial LPG for their daily operations.

The increased costs are likely to affect the pricing strategies of many eateries and restaurants, potentially leading to higher prices for consumers.

Domestic LPG Prices Remain Steady

In contrast to the commercial LPG price adjustments, domestic LPG cylinder prices have remained stable since a ₹60 increase in March.

The 14.2 kg domestic cylinders have not seen any further revisions, providing some relief to households across the country.

This stability in domestic pricing ensures that families are not facing additional financial burdens amid rising commercial rates.

City-Wise LPG Rates as of April 15, 2023

As of April 15, 2023, the city-wise LPG rates for both domestic and commercial cylinders are as follows:

City Domestic (₹) Commercial (₹)
New Delhi 913 2,078.50
Kolkata 939 2,208.50
Mumbai 912 2,031.00
Chennai 928 2,246.50
Bengaluru 915 2,161.00
Hyderabad 965 2,320.50
Jaipur 916 2,106.00
Patna 1,002.50 2,353.50

Conclusion

The recent hikes in commercial LPG cylinder prices have placed a financial strain on businesses relying on this resource. While domestic LPG prices have remained stable, the increased commercial rates may lead to adjustments in business operations and pricing strategies. As the situation evolves, businesses and consumers alike will need to adapt to these changes in the LPG market.
