
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated India's first integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra in Rajasthan's Balotra district and inaugurated or laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹1.06 lakh crore.
The programme was attended by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
Developed as a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Rajasthan Government, the refinery-cum-petrochemical complex has been built with an investment of over ₹79,450 crore.
It has a 9 MMTPA refining capacity and 2.4 MMTPA petrochemical capacity, with a Nelson Complexity Index of 17.0 and petrochemical yields exceeding 26%. The government said the project will strengthen energy security, improve petrochemical self-sufficiency, drive industrial growth and support the development of a Petrochemical and Plastic Park.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for Phase 2 of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project, involving an investment of over ₹13,000 crore. The 41-km corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod will have 36 stations, connecting Sitapura Industrial Area, VKI, Jaipur Airport, Tonk Road, SMS Hospital, SMS Stadium, Ambabari and Vidyadhar Nagar. Phase 1, covering 11.64 km with 11 stations, is already operational.
He also dedicated the 58-km Churu-Sadulpur and 46-km Churu-Ratangarh rail doubling projects built at around ₹900 crore, along with the ₹740 crore four-laning of NH-125A Jodhpur Ring Road Section-2 (Karwar-Dangiyawas).
The Prime Minister dedicated SJVN Limited's 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Energy Project, developed with an investment of about ₹5,500 crore, and NHPC's 300 MW Karnisar Bikaner Solar Energy Plant. The SJVN project uses 24.22 lakh domestically manufactured solar modules, while the NHPC project uses around 7.75 lakh domestically manufactured solar PV cells and modules.
He also inaugurated a power transmission line worth over ₹1,900 crore for the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) and laid the foundation stone for a 530-km transmission system to facilitate renewable power evacuation.

With the commissioning of India's first integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex and the launch of multiple transport and renewable energy projects, Rajasthan has added major infrastructure assets that are expected to strengthen energy capacity, industrial development and regional connectivity.
