Government Approves PM Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojna to Promote Employment and Social Security
On July 1, 2025, the Indian government approved the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme, titled Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojna, aimed at boosting employment generation, enhancing employability, and strengthening social security across all sectors, with a particular emphasis on the manufacturing sector.
The scheme opened for registration from 1st August 2025 to 31st July 2027, with a budgetary outlay of ₹99,446 crore for the period FY 2025-26 to FY 2031-32. It is structured into two parts:
- Part A provides incentives for 1.92 crore new eligible employees
- Part B offers incentives to employers for generating approximately 2.59 crore additional jobs
e-Shram Platform Strengthened as a One-Stop-Solution for Unorganised Workers
In line with the Budget 2024-25 announcement to make e-Shram a single-window platform for unorganised workers to access various social security schemes, the Ministry of Labour and Employment launched the e-Shram – “One-Stop-Solution” on 21st October 2024. This initiative enables the integration of multiple welfare and social security schemes on a single digital portal, allowing registered workers to access and track benefits received.
Announcement of Various Schemes
So far, 14 schemes from various Central Ministries and Departments have been mapped with e-Shram, including:
- Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PMSVANidhi)
- Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
- Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)
- National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)
- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS)
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G)
- Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U)
- Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)
- Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY)
- One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC)
- Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)
Additionally, e-Shram is linked with platforms such as:
- Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM)
- National Career Service (NCS)
- Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH)
- Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG)
- DigiLocker
- myScheme
- Open Government Data Platform (OGD)

To improve accessibility, the e-Shram mobile app was officially launched on February 24, 2025, enabling real-time access to welfare schemes through mobile devices and enhancing convenience for unorganised workers.
