PM Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana: Government Launches Job Portal for ₹15,000 Financial Incentive
In a bid to boost employment and fuel domestic consumption, the central government officially launched its flagship jobs portal on August 18. This initiative is part of the broader Employment-Linked Incentive Scheme designed to stimulate job creation across the country.
The scheme was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day address from the Red Fort on August 15, marking the 79th anniversary of India's independence.
What is Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana?
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVBRY), the initiative offers a financial incentive of ₹15,000 to young individuals securing private sector jobs for the first time. Employers hiring under the scheme will also receive benefits to encourage large-scale employment.
The Union Cabinet approved the scheme on July 1, 2025, with a total financial outlay of nearly ₹1 lakh crore. Over the next 2 years, from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2027, the government aims to create over 3.5 crore jobs under this initiative.
"The government is launching today, August 15, Rs 1 lakh crore Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, under which the government will provide Rs 15,000 to youths getting jobs in private companies. It is expected to provide jobs to about 3.5 crore youth," said PM Modi while addressing the nation from the Red Fort on August 15, 2025.”
According to reports, around 1.92 crore first-time job seekers are expected to benefit. However, the ₹15,000 assistance will only be disbursed after the individual has completed at least six months of continuous employment.
How to Register for PMVBRY?
- Employers can complete a one-time registration by visiting either of the official portals: https://pmvbry.epfindia.gov.in or https://pmvbry.labour.gov.in.
- First-time employees must generate a Universal Account Number (UAN) using the Face Authentication Technology (FAT) available on the UMANG App.
