FASTag Annual Pass: Eligibility Criteria

On August 15, 2025, NHAI introduced the FASTag Annual Pass, allowing private vehicle owners 200 toll-free journeys on select national highways for ₹3,000 per year. Here's everything you need to know about who qualifies and how it functions:
Who Is Eligible for the Annual FASTag Pass?
The pass is designed for non-commercial private vehicles only specifically cars, jeeps, and vans.
To qualify, the vehicle must meet these key criteria:
- Existing FASTag must be active and linked to the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) and not just registered with a chassis number.
- FASTag must be properly affixed on the vehicle’s windshield.
- FASTag must not be blacklisted or flagged for any disputes.
- The pass is non-transferable and remains valid only for the vehicle it’s assigned to.
- If used on a commercial vehicle, the pass will be deactivated immediately.
FASTag Annual Pass Usage Restrictions and Activation Process
- The pass cannot be used on state highways, parking areas, or routes managed by state authorities. Charges will apply normally in those cases.
- Once the pass is activated via the Rajmarg Yatra app or NHAI website and payment is confirmed, it becomes active within 2 hours.
