FASTag Annual Pass Crosses 5 Lakh Users Nationwide: Launched on Aug 15
In a move to simplify toll payments and improve the travel experience on highways, the newly launched FASTag Annual Pass has crossed a major milestone of over five lakh users across India. Launched on 15th August 2025, the facility has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from National Highway users.
Tamil Nadu led the country in the number of Annual Passes purchased in the first four days of launch, followed by Karnataka and Haryana. When it comes to toll plaza transactions through the Annual Pass, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh reported the highest usage, highlighting the pass’s strong traction in the southern region.
Rajmargyatra App Sees Surge in Popularity
The official app for FASTag services, Rajmargyatra, has witnessed a remarkable rise in user engagement. Within four days of the Annual Pass rollout, the app:
- Climbed to #23 overall on Google Play Store
- Ranked #2 in the Travel category
- Achieved over 15 lakh downloads
- Maintained an impressive 4.5-star rating
It has also become the top-performing government app during this period, underlining its growing popularity among highway commuters.
Seamless and Economical Travel Solution
The FASTag Annual Pass offers an economical and hassle-free tolling experience for non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag. With a one-time fee of ₹3,000, users get:
- 1 year of validity or
- Up to 200 toll plaza crossings (whichever comes first)

The pass is valid at around 1,150 toll plazas across National Highways and Expressways. Activation is quick and convenient—completed within two hours of payment through the Rajmargyatra App or NHAI website—enabling uninterrupted travel for users nationwide.
