The total value of guarantees issued under the scheme stands at ₹48,484.26 crore, according to the Finance Ministry.
The scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet on 5 May 2026 and is intended to provide additional credit support to existing borrowers facing liquidity pressures linked to the West Asia crisis.

The scheme offers a 100% government guarantee for eligible MSME loans and a 90% guarantee for eligible non-MSME borrowers. It aims to facilitate additional credit of ₹2.55 lakh crore.
Public Sector Banks have issued 96% of the guarantees under the scheme so far. Private sector banks, Regional Rural Banks, Small Finance Banks, and Non-Banking Financial Companies are also part of the lending network.
The government said member lending institutions have been informing eligible borrowers through digital channels such as websites, emails, and SMS to improve awareness of the scheme.
The Department of Financial Services has also conducted outreach programmes at 9 locations through State Level Bankers' Committees.
The programmes involved banks, industry associations, state MSME departments, commerce departments and other stakeholders. A second phase of these outreach activities is under consideration.
