The Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026 will be rolled out through a fully digital, single-window online portal, with real-time monitoring forming a key part of its implementation.

The operational framework was finalised by Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Singh during a review meeting with transport department officials after the policy received approval earlier this week.

Digital Platform for EV Services

The dedicated portal will manage the approval of eligible EV models, processing of purchase incentives and scrapping incentives, and grant exemptions for eligible vehicles.

According to the minister, the entire process will be handled through a digital and time-bound system, with clearly defined responsibilities and accountability for every stage of implementation.

Features of the Online Portal

The operational guidelines provide for a single-window platform covering multiple services under the policy.

These include approval of eligible EV models, submission and processing of purchase and scrapping incentive applications, publication of approved vehicle models, application tracking, real-time monitoring, and exemption from no-entry restrictions for N2 electric goods vehicles.

Transport department officials indicated that the online portal for implementing the Delhi EV Policy 2026 is expected to be launched soon, enabling the policy to be administered through a fully digital platform.

Review of Implementation Mechanism

During the review meeting, Pankaj Singh also assessed the functioning of the EV Cell and the Model Approval Committee constituted under the policy.

The minister instructed officials to adhere to the prescribed timelines to ensure that approvals, incentives and exemptions are processed transparently and within the stipulated timeframe.
