Apple Hits Record $10 Billion in Annual Sales in India Driven by Retail Expansion

Apple Inc. achieved a major milestone in India by surpassing $10 billion in annual sales for the first time during the fiscal year ended March 2026, as per The Bloomberg news report.
The company recorded double-digit revenue growth from around $9 billion in the previous fiscal year, with iPhones contributing the majority of sales. Demand for iPads and MacBooks also increased during the period.
India Emerges as a Key Growth Market
India continues to strengthen its position as one of Apple's most important markets outside the United States and China.
Although the country still accounts for a relatively small share of Apple's global business, it has become an increasingly significant contributor to the company's international sales.
In comparison, Apple's latest quarterly revenue from China stood at $18.8 billion, as the company continued to face competition from Huawei Technologies.
Retail Network Continues to Expand
Apple expanded its retail presence by opening a new store in Mumbai in February, taking its total number of official stores in India to six.
The company launched its online store in India in 2020, while Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook inaugurated Apple's first two physical stores in Mumbai and New Delhi in 2023.
Since then, Apple has expanded both its company-owned stores and premium reseller network across the country.
Pricing Strategy and Manufacturing Growth
The entry-level iPhone 17 is priced at ₹82,900 in India, compared with $799 in the United States, where the device is also available on lease from $23 per month. To improve affordability, Apple offers credit card rebates, student discounts, and trade-in programmes.
The company currently operates five iPhone manufacturing facilities in India. Around one in every four iPhones is now produced in the country, which has also become Apple's primary manufacturing base for devices exported to the United States.
The company noted that India's sales growth appears lower in US dollar terms because the rupee has depreciated by around 10% against the US dollar since the beginning of last year.
