Krutrim, the AI venture founded by Bhavish Aggarwal, launched Kruti on 12 June, an agentic AI assistant focused on handling sophisticated tasks across multiple data formats. Designed for Indian consumers, Kruti marks a shift from traditional AI tools by performing end-to-end task execution with minimal user intervention, as per news reports.
Kruti is capable of processing various input types: text, images, and documents, while delivering outputs across these formats in a single seamless flow. "If I want to take a picture, provide an invoice input, and complete a task seamlessly, Kruti makes it all happen within a single flow," said Chandra Khatri, Founding Head of Krutrim AI. Unlike conventional assistants, Kruti leverages multiple collaborating agents that work sequentially or in parallel to complete a task with over 90% accuracy in most scenarios.
Krutrim is positioning Kruti not just as a standalone product but as a platform. The company has built a software development kit (SDK) that will allow developers and enterprises to build custom assistants for sectors such as finance, education, and healthcare. "Our vision is to go beyond consumers. We're building this to eventually open up to enterprises and developers, enabling them to tailor their own assistants using our framework," said Khatri.
Krutrim has already deployed Kruti within the Ola ecosystem, with Ola serving as the assistant’s first live application. "We wanted to start with Ola's complex use cases to ensure the platform was deeply tested and reliable before opening it up to others," said Navendu Agarwal, who leads Krutrim’s Ola integration. He added that many agentic applications struggle to achieve 80% accuracy in real-world settings, but Kruti has already surpassed that mark.
Meanwhile, Indian IT giants, including Infosys, Wipro, HCLTech, and Tech Mahindra are also advancing efforts in agentic AI, recognising its potential to transform business operations. Wipro has reported efficiency improvements ranging from 20% to 35% through the deployment of agentic AI solutions.
