Bajel Projects Limited has announced the acquisition of an ultra-mega power transmission order from PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), executed through its Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), MEL Power Transmission Limited. This project, valued at ₹400 crore and above, includes the construction of a 138 km 400kV transmission line and substation bay extension at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. The award further solidifies Bajel’s position as a key contributor to India's growing power infrastructure landscape.
The awarded contract pertains to Transmission Line Package TL01 and includes the construction of a 400kV double-circuit transmission line spanning approximately 138 kilometres from Mahan (Existing Bus) to Rewa PS (PG), using Quad ACSR/AAAC/AL59 moose equivalent conductors. Additionally, the project involves the extension of 400kV Substation Bay works at the Rewa (PG) substation. These developments are part of a broader transmission system designed for the efficient evacuation of power from the Mahan Energen Limited Generating Station in Madhya Pradesh.
The project has a defined execution timeline of 29 months from the date of award. Bajel confirmed that the order does not involve any related party transactions, and none of the promoter or group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.
