Blank endorsement

A blank endorsement on a bill of exchange indicates that no specific recipient is named, making the bill payable to the bearer and allowing it to be transferred through delivery. However, if a blank endorsement is present, any holder of the bill has the ability to turn it into a special endorsement by adding a direction above the endorser's signature to pay the bill to a specific order, whether it be themselves or someone else.
