On April 2, 2024, the Nifty 50 dropped by 0.04% to 22,453, and the Sensex increased by 0.15% to 73,903. Foreign investors sold shares worth around ₹1,622 crores, while domestic investors bought shares worth ₹1,952 crores.

Top Gainers and Losers

On April 2, 2024, sectors like Nifty Consumer Durables, Nifty Media, Nifty Metal and Nifty Oil and Gas saw growth, while Nifty IT, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Pharma and Nifty Bank declined. The top gainers were Bharat Electronics, Adani Power, Vedanta Limited and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, which showed positive movement. On the other hand, Hero Motocorp, Kotak Bank, Dmart and Godrej Limited faced losses, marking them as the top losers of the day.

Aditya Birla Fashion and Tata Technologies were in the news on April 2, 2024.

  • A rise of about 11.6% was seen in the Aditya Birla Fashion share price today. The company announced it would demerge its retail business, Madura Fashion and Lifestyle, into a separate listed entity.
  • Tata Technologies Ltd and BMW Group have formed a joint venture to provide automotive software and IT solutions for the German carmaker. Post this news, there is an increase in Tata Technologies share price by 4%.
