On April 25, 2024, Nifty 50 and Sensex rose 0.75% and 0.66% to 22,570 and 74,339, respectively. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) sold securities worth around ₹2,823 crore, while domestic investors bought shares worth ₹6,167 crore. 

Top Gainers and Losers

On the sectoral front, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Healthcare, and Nifty Metal closed in green. Meanwhile, Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Realty were seen declining. The top gainers were Axis Bank, SBI, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and Bank of Baroda, which showed positive movement. On the other hand, Kotak Bank, DMART, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, and LTI Mindtree were the top losers of the day.

Glenmark Life Sciences and Inox Wind were in the news on April 25, 2024.

  • Glenmark Life Sciences reported revenue from operations of ₹536 crore in Q4 FY 2024, which declined by 13% compared to Q4 FY 2023. After this news, the company’s share price dropped by ~6%, closing at ₹775. 
  • Inox Wind has approved the bonus issue of shares. The company’s share price increased by 7%, closing at ₹649.
