On April 23, 2024, Nifty 50 and Sensex rose 0.14% and 0.12% to 22,368 and 73,738, respectively. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) sold securities worth around ₹3,044 crore, while domestic investors bought shares worth ₹2,918 crore. 

Top Gainers and Losers

On the sectoral front, Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Media closed in green. While, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Healthcare, Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty Metal were seen declining. The top gainers were Grasim Industries, Bharti Airtel, Ambuja Cement and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, which showed positive movement. On the other hand, Sun Pharma, ABB, Zomato and BPCL were the top losers of the day.

Mastek and United Breweries were in the news on April 23, 2024.

  • Mastek has signed a multi-tower deal with Yanbu Cement Company, resulting in an increase in the company’s share price by ~2%, closing at ₹2,700.
  • Tata Power has made a deal with Indian Bank for solar rooftop financing. After this news, the company’s share price increased by 0.36%, closing at ₹429.
