Hero MotoCorp, one of the largest two-wheeler manufacturers, is accelerating its global plans to expand into the UK and European markets starting in the second half of 2025. The New Delhi-based company aims to appeal to premium customers with a new electric scooter, the VIDA Z while laying the foundation for future high-capacity internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles.

VIDA Z: Entry into Europe & the UK

Revealed at the EICMA 2024 show in Milan, the VIDA Z is Hero’s first electric model set to make its European debut. This model is Hero’s first step into the UK and European electric vehicle (EV) markets. “The VIDA Z is for riders from Barcelona to Bogota—it’s a statement on the global stage,” said Swadesh Srivastava, Chief Business Officer for Emerging Mobility at Hero MotoCorp. This global perspective is helping Hero enter new territories while establishing a fresh image.

Expanding Distribution

Hero’s expansion isn’t just about new models; it’s backed by a strong distribution strategy. New partnerships in Italy (with Pelpi International S.r.l.), along with earlier deals in France, the UK, and Spain, form a solid network for its European push. And let’s not forget Hero’s Tech Centre Germany (TCG) near Munich, where R&D for these new models takes shape.

Rising Sales & International Presence

Hero MotoCorp’s international sales have grown, with exports rising from 1.7 lakh units in FY23 to 2 lakh units in FY24. Overseas revenue, however, still accounts for a modest 3.9% of the company’s total revenue of Rs.37,456 crore. With the expansion, Hero MotoCorp aims to increase this share and capture a larger market in regions where it currently has low single-digit export revenue.

As of this morning, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.’s stock is trading at Rs.4,917.00, marking a 2.00% increase today. Year-to-date, the stock has risen by 19.39%, and over the past year, it has appreciated by 55.26%.

Conclusion: With the VIDA Z and a vision for international growth, Hero MotoCorp seems well set to capture the electric two-wheeler market in Europe. This will not only strengthen Hero’s global presence but also promote its high-performance mobility solutions worldwide.
