Eicher Motors’ motorcycle arm, Royal Enfield has commencement of operations of its exclusive Local Assembly Unit and CKD facility in Nepal. Set up in collaboration with the Triveni Group, this announcement is a significant boost to the company’s business in the South Asian Association for Regional (SAARC) region, and further reiterates Royal Enfield’s commitment to Nepal. Located in Birgunj, the new facility is the Royal Enfield’s fifth CKD assembly unit in the world – after Brazil, Thailand, Colombia and Argentina – in addition to its state-of-the-art manufacturing and ancillary facilities located in Tamil Nadu, India.  

The motorcycle market in Nepal is on a confident rebound journey, and Royal Enfield sees huge potential for the market to grow substantially. Pre-pandemic the motorcycle segment in Nepal was nearly 1.7 million units per year, with almost 60%-65% of that being motorcycles sold in the above 150cc premium segment. 

Established in 1982, Eicher Motors is an India-based company, which is engaged in manufacturing automobile products and related components. The company operates in business verticals, including motorcycles, commercial vehicles and personal utility vehicles. The company is a global leader in middleweight motorcycles. 

On Friday, the shares of Eicher Motors closed at Rs 3699.60, down by 0.42% from its previous closing of Rs 3715.10 on the BSE. 

The stock opened at Rs 3729.95 and touched a high and low of Rs 3746.25 and Rs 3660 respectively.  

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value of Rs 1 has touched a 52-week high and low of Rs 3886 and Rs 2,585.30, respectively. 

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 3746.25 and Rs 3655.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 1,01,240.89 crore. 

The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.20%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.92% and 10.88%, respectively.
