Trading Holiday (31-Mar-2026) & Settlement Holiday (01-Apr-2026)

The following are the upcoming holidays and their implications that you must take note of: 

 

31-Mar-2026 - Trading Holiday on account of Mahavir Jayanti. 

  1. BSE and NSE will be closed for the trading of Equity, Derivatives, Currency, and Debt segments.  

  1. The evening session of the Commodity Trading will remain open.  

  1. There will be no settlement of funds and securities on this day. 

 

01-Apr-2026 - Settlement Holiday due to the Annual Bank Closing 

  1. The Currency Segment will be closed for trading on this day.  

  1. Other segments are open to trading. 

  

What this means for you: 

You can place your Trades as usual, except the stock purchased on 30-Mar-2026 will not be allowed to be sold on 01-Apr-2026. The settlement of funds/securities will be processed as detailed in the table below:

Note: Stock purchased on 30-Mar-2026 will not be allowed to be sold on 01-Apr-2026. This change is only for double pay-in/payout of stock due to the settlement holiday on 01-Apr-2026 and is not a regular change. 

  

Your credit balance for 01-Apr-2026 will not include the following:

Credits Made from Trades Done On 30-Mar-2026 

  

Just so you know: Settlement holidays refer to days when markets (except the Currency segment) are open for trading, but when Depositories and/or Banks are closed. Due to this, all trades made during that day will be settled in the next settlement cycle, as per the respective segments.
