Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
US stocks continued to advance over the course of the trading day on Wednesday. With the upward move the Dow ended the session at a new record closing high. The Dow soared 1.4 percent to 31962 and the techheavy Nasdaq also surged up 1 percent to 13598.
U.K. stocks closed higher on Wednesday as some positive economic data and encouraging earnings announcements helped offset concerns about inflation and prompted investors to pick up stocks. The benchmark FTSE 100 increased by 0.5 percent to 6659.
Indian shares rose sharply Wednesday in an unprecedented extended session with analysts attributing the up move to shortcovering ahead of FO expiry. The benchmark BSE Sensex surged by 2.1 per cent to 50782.
