Indian markets are likely to open Negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
Stocks turned in a relatively lackluster performance during trading on Thursday although the techheavy Nasdaq still climbed to a near record closing high. The Dow and the SP 500 bounced back and forth across the unchanged line before closing nearly flat. The Dow flat to 31176 and the Nasdaq was up by 0.5 percent to 13530.
U.K. stocks were marginally lower in lackluster trade on Thursday as the pound continued to push higher on the back of Joe Bidens swearingin as President of the United States. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 0.4 percentage to 6715.
Indian shares gave up early gains to settle modestly lower on Thursday. The benchmark SP BSE Sensex down by 0.3 percent to 49624.
