Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

The US stocks turned in a relatively lackluster performance during trading on Thursday. The Dow and the SP 500 spent much of the day lingering near the unchanged line before closing modestly lower. The Dow fell by 0.3 percent to 27897 while the Nasdaq moved uo by 0.3 percent 11043.

UK stocks fell on Thursday with oil giants falling after the International Energy Agency (IEA) cut its 2020 production outlook by 140000 barrels per day (bpd) to 91.9mln. The FTSE 100 fell by 0.9 percent to 6224.

On domestic front Indian shares gave up early gains to end lower on Thursday tracking mixed global cues and amid caution ahead of the release of Julys retail inflation print. The benchmark BSE Sensex dipped by 0.2 percent to 38310.
