Tata Electronics and Bosch Partner For Semiconductor and Auto Tech Projects

Tata Electronics and Germany-based Robert Bosch GmbH have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on semiconductor manufacturing and automotive electronics. The agreement was announced on Thursday, as per a PTI report.
Semiconductor Facilities in Assam and Gujarat
The partnership will involve chip packaging and manufacturing activities at Tata Electronics’ upcoming facilities. These include an assembly and test unit in Assam and a semiconductor foundry in Gujarat.
Collaboration to Boost Automotive Electronics
The 2 companies also plan to work together on local projects related to vehicle electronics. The collaboration will explore opportunities in electronic manufacturing services (EMS) that serve the automotive sector.
Tata Electronics has been expanding its footprint in India’s semiconductor sector. The new plants are part of broader efforts to develop local infrastructure for chip production and related technologies.
Statements from Company Executives
Tata Electronics’ CEO, Randhir Thakur, stated that the partnership supports the company’s semiconductor plans. Bosch’s Executive Vice President of Semiconductor Operations, Dirk Kress, mentioned the growing demand for automotive electronics as a factor behind the tie-up.
Bosch is a longstanding player in the automotive and electronics sectors. Tata Electronics is a newer entrant working on establishing semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in India.
