Waterways Leisure Tourism Share Price Up Over 2% as Cordelia Cruises Starts Operations from Mumbai and Kochi

Waterways Leisure Tourism Limited has begun operating two cruise ships from Mumbai and Kochi, with Cordelia Sky based in Mumbai and Cordelia Empress operating from Kochi. The company announced the start of the two-ship operation on October 26, 2026.
This is the first time Cordelia Cruises has operated two ships simultaneously from separate Indian homeports. The routes include domestic sailings to Goa and Lakshadweep and international itineraries to the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Nearly 6,000 Guests Handled at Mumbai Port
On 23 October, nearly 6,000 guests embarked and disembarked across Cordelia Sky and Cordelia Empress at Mumbai port. Cordelia Sky departed on its first guest sailing, while Cordelia Empress began its journey to Kochi.
The company said the expanded deployment increases its operating capacity and extends its itinerary network across the two ports.
Mumbai Sailings and Ship Capacity
Cordelia Sky will operate two- and three-night weekend cruises from Mumbai, four-night Lakshadweep sailings and five-night itineraries covering destinations including Goa and Lakshadweep.
The ship has a capacity of 2,280 guests at full occupancy, with 1,002 staterooms. These comprise 245 Mini Suites, 11 Penthouse Suites, and four Chairman's Suites. Facilities include dining venues, production shows, live entertainment, sports, and wellness activities.
Cordelia Empress Routes from Kochi
Cordelia Empress will offer two-night weekend cruises, three- and four-night Lakshadweep sailings and a five-night international itinerary linking Kochi with Malé in the Maldives and Colombo in Sri Lanka.
The programme also includes Kavaratti and Minicoy in Lakshadweep. Kochi's addition as a homeport gives the company a second operating base in India.

Cordelia Cruises began operations in 2021 and has carried more than 800,000 guests, according to the company. Waterways Leisure Tourism said another ship, Cordelia Sun, is scheduled to join the fleet in 2027.
