VA TECH WABAG, a leading Indian multinational water technology company, has secured a Letter of Award from the Saudi Water Authority (SWA) for a large repeat Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The project involves setting up an advanced technology Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) plant with a capacity of 50 million litres per day (MLD) at Aljouf.
Under the contract, WABAG will design, supply, construct and commission the 50 MLD BWRO plant within a period of 14 months. The facility will treat raw water sourced from bore well fields that contain rare elements, requiring a robust and advanced treatment process.
The treatment scheme includes state-of-the-art Ceramic Membrane technology for pre-treatment, followed by Micron Cartridge Filtration and Reverse Osmosis. This integrated approach is aimed at ensuring long-term operational reliability and a sustainable water supply for the region.
The order is classified as a large repeat contract, highlighting SWA’s continued confidence in WABAG’s technical capabilities and project execution track record. The project strengthens WABAG’s presence in the Middle East, a key market for water infrastructure investments, and reinforces its position as a global player in desalination and water treatment solutions.
WABAG has confirmed receipt of the Letter of Award, with contracting formalities set to commence immediately. The effective date for the start of execution will be announced after the contract is formally signed. Once operational, the plant will play a critical role in supporting water security and sustainable development in the Aljouf region.
Commenting on this development, Mr. Phani Sathish Kadiyala, Country Manager & Branch GM – KSA said, “We are honoured to receive this repeat order from our esteemed customer, SWA, and sincerely thank them for their continued confidence in WABAG. This award reflects the Kingdom’s proactive adoption of next-generation water treatment technologies and further reinforces WABAG’s leadership in advanced technology solutions such as BWRO, SWRO, and recycle-and-reuse systems.”
He further added, “We remain fully committed to delivering this state-of-the-art facility to the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance, aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision and its focus on sustainable, technology-driven water infrastructure.”
On December 29, 2025, WABAG share price opened at ₹1,299.00, touching the day’s low at ₹1,267.60, as of 11:33 AM on the NSE.
