Company Faces Higher Costs Amid Supply Chain Disruptions
In its annual report, United Breweries said geopolitical tensions in West Asia have disrupted global supply chains, leading to higher costs for raw materials, packaging, transportation and logistics. The company expects these challenges to continue over the next few quarters.
During FY26, the company's operating expenses increased to ₹7,948.07 crore, compared to ₹7,616.87 crore in FY25. Meanwhile, revenue declined to ₹17,500.84 crore from ₹19,436.50 crore in the previous financial year.
Cost Optimisation Measures Underway
To reduce the impact of rising costs, United Breweries has introduced several measures, including selective price increases, operating cost optimisation and productivity improvement initiatives. The company also said it will continue working with regulators while navigating the changing business environment.
According to the company, supply-side disruptions, including shortages of aluminium cans and higher logistics costs, have added pressure to manufacturing operations.
Long-Term Outlook Remains Positive
Despite near-term challenges, United Breweries remains optimistic about the long-term growth of India's beer market. The company said improving regulatory developments and a recovery in beer demand during the fourth quarter of FY26 support its long-term growth outlook.

United Breweries shares touched an intraday high of ₹1,419.90, rising about 5% during the trading session.
The stock has outperformed the Nifty FMCG Index over the past one week and one month. However, its longer-term performance has remained weak, declining around 12.6% so far in 2026 and over 30% during the past one year.
