UltraTech Cement Share Price in Focus; To Deploy Over 600 Electric Trucks by December 2026

UltraTech Cement is advancing its logistics operation with the addition of electric trucks. By the end of December 2026, they have plans to exceed 600 units between the provision of vehicles performing the movement of clinker and other main materials.
The size of the plan is massive. UltraTech forecasts these trucks would transport annual tonnage in the range of 5 million MT per annum across Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Odisha.
EV Fleet To Cover Seven States
UltraTech has tied up with several manufacturers for the electric prime movers, including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, IPLTech, Energy in Motion and Sany. Their subsidiaries and other third-party logistics providers are also part of the arrangements.
The trucks will be used for different parts of the company's material movement network. This includes transportation from mines to plants as well as shifting clinker and other materials between plants.
Diesel Use To Fall By Equivalent Of 39 Million Litres
UltraTech estimates that the full fleet could bring down net annual CO₂ emissions by more than 1,17,000 tonnes. The company puts the diesel displacement at the equivalent of around 39 million litres a year.
K C Jhanwar, Managing Director of UltraTech Cement, said the company is taking its sustainability efforts beyond its plants and into logistics. He said greener transportation is part of the company's work to decarbonise its value chain and support its Net Zero commitment.
Electric Trucks Add To Existing Green Fleet
This is not UltraTech's first move into cleaner transportation. The company already operates 850+ trucks under its green logistics programme, including CNG and electric vehicles. It introduced CNG trucks in 2021 and electric trucks in 2024.
