UltraTech Cement Share Price in Focus; Becomes First Indian Cement Company to Cross 2 GW Green Energy Capacity

UltraTech Cement’s cumulative installed green energy capacity has reached 2,024 MW, following the commissioning of new wind and waste heat recovery capacity, as per an exchange filing dated October 5, 2026.
The company has become the first cement company in India to cross 2 GW of green energy capacity for captive use.
Latest Capacity Additions
UltraTech commissioned 116.55 MW of wind capacity at its Inter-State Transmission System-connected wind-solar hybrid project in Barmer, Rajasthan.
It also commissioned 10 MW of Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) capacity at Sarlanagar Cement Works, its integrated manufacturing unit in Karnataka.
Renewable Energy and WHRS
The company’s total green energy capacity includes 1,580 MW of renewable energy capacity and 444 MW of WHRS capacity. These sources together meet around 48% of UltraTech’s current power requirements.
During FY27 so far, nearly one-third of UltraTech’s 76 manufacturing units in India have used green energy for more than 50% of their electricity requirements.
Green Energy Additions in FY26
UltraTech commissioned 430 MW of green energy capacity in FY26. The company is also progressively installing Battery Energy Storage Systems across its operations for renewable energy use and power supply reliability.
In 2025, UltraTech operationalised an on-site hybrid round-the-clock renewable energy project at Sewagram Cement Works in Gujarat. The project combines solar, wind, and battery storage.
Targets Ahead
UltraTech plans to raise the share of green energy in its total power mix to 85% by 2030. Separately, as a member of RE100, it has committed to meeting 100% of its electricity requirement through renewable sources by 2050.

As of October 5, 2026, 1:39 pm, UltraTech Cement share price was trading at ₹10,875.00, a 1.54% increase from the previous closing price.
