TVS Supply Chain Solutions Ltd announced on January 12, 2026, that it has received a 3-year contract from Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV). The contract covers in-plant warehouse management at DICV’s manufacturing facility in Chennai.

The arrangement will remain in place for the full 3-year term.

Plant-Level Operations

The scope of work is limited to warehouse activities within the Chennai plant. TVS Supply Chain Solutions will manage material handling after parts reach the factory premises. This includes internal movement of components required for vehicle manufacturing.

Nature of Services

The company will handle end-to-end in-plant warehouse functions. These include receipt of materials, storage, inventory tracking and feeding parts to production lines. The work is linked to day-to-day manufacturing requirements and production schedules at the facility.

Employee Deployment

Around 700 employees from TVS Supply Chain Solutions will be deployed at the Chennai location. The staff will work across multiple shifts to align with plant operations. The deployment forms part of the company’s on-site logistics services for manufacturing clients.

Use of Systems and Tools

Warehouse operations under the contract will use digital systems for tracking and monitoring. These include IoT-based tools for real-time material visibility, automation-driven processes to reduce manual handling, and analytics-based planning tools. Centralised dashboards will be used to monitor operational data.

Role in Production Flow

In-plant warehousing supports the movement of parts between storage and assembly lines. Managing this function is critical to maintaining production continuity and avoiding delays. The contract focuses on maintaining material availability within the plant.

Statements from Companies

Sukumar K, CEO – India & MEA at TVS Supply Chain Solutions, said the company’s experience in in-plant logistics and previous work with Daimler supported the engagement. C Muthu Maruthachalam, President and Chief Operating Officer at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, said efficient in-plant logistics is necessary for manufacturing operations.
