TVS Motor Company is in focus after the company announced the launch of the TVS Ronin top variant in Sri Lanka on May 9, 2026.
The premium modern-retro motorcycle, which has already carved a distinct identity in India's lifestyle riding segment, is now being taken to the Sri Lankan market, a geography TVS considers strategically important for its international expansion ambitions.
The TVS Ronin top variant has been introduced in Sri Lanka at an introductory price of LKR 1.499 million (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is available in 2 new colour options, Nimbus Grey and Midnight Blue, both designed to align with the brand's lifestyle-first positioning.
The launch event was marked by an immersive 'Ronin Ride' experience where media personnel and motorcycling enthusiasts rode together from Colombo to the iconic Galle Fort, reinforcing the product's adventure and freedom-oriented identity.
225.9 cc Engine with Advanced Technology at Its Core
The TVS Ronin top variant is powered by a 225.9 cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine that delivers 20.4 PS at 7,750 rpm and 19.93 Nm of torque at 3,750 rpm.
The motorcycle is equipped with rear mono-shock suspension, paired with disc brakes featuring dual-channel ABS, ensuring a confident and safe riding experience across varied road conditions.
The feature set positions it firmly in the premium end of Sri Lanka's 2-wheeler market.
Beyond performance, TVS Ronin integrates SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity, enabling turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist, and call alerts directly through the instrument cluster.
Combined with all-LED lighting, signature styling elements, and premium graphics, the motorcycle delivers a tech-forward proposition wrapped in a modern-retro design language.
This blend of aesthetics and connectivity is central to the Ronin's appeal among urban lifestyle riders and younger motorcycling enthusiasts.
TVS Motor Company already operates a wide product portfolio in Sri Lanka, covering models such as the TVS Raider, TVS Raider SX, TVS NTORQ 125 series, TVS Jupiter 110, TVS iQube, TVS Sport 110, TVS XL100 Heavy Duty, and the TVS King Deluxe Plus.
The addition of the Ronin elevates the brand's positioning in the premium lifestyle segment, which has historically been underpenetrated in the country.
As per exchange filings, Peyman Kargar, President of International Business at TVS Motor Company, stated, “TVS Ronin has redefined modern-retro motorcycling by seamlessly integrating design and technology that meets diverse needs. Sri Lanka is a key market for us and with this new launch, it showcases our commitment to delivering premium and lifestyle-led products to our customers.
We are confident that the new TVS Ronin will encourage the young riders and motorcycling enthusiasts to connect with the brand’s ‘unscripted’ philosophy in a truly engaging way.”
TVS Motor Company operates across 80 countries and manufactures from four state-of-the-art facilities in India and Indonesia.
The group also owns Norton Motorcycles in the UK and holds significant positions in the European e-bike market through Swiss E-Mobility Group (SEMG) and EGO Movement.
The Sri Lanka Ronin launch is consistent with the company's broader premiumisation strategy, taking aspirational, technology-rich products to international markets to drive brand value and capture higher-margin revenue streams.
